Only three rounds of rolling today. It turned out to be the easiest session so far.
We started with the usual warm-up, followed by a series of techniques — mostly takedowns from different positions, with some groundwork mixed in. I felt good throughout, relaxed and focused.
Ultimately, we had free sparring (rolling). Just three rounds, and all of them relatively easy. Two of my partners were much lighter than I, including a young girl, maybe eighteen, who’s been training for only two weeks. That's not always so! Usually, the rolling partners are either my weight class or much heavier! When they come in mount position or side control, I feel like a pancake!
It wasn’t the most intense class, but it felt steady and balanced — a small reminder that not every session has to be a struggle to count as progress.
This was my 16th class in less than 8 weeks of my Jiu-Jitsu journey, and I have approximately 70 rounds of rolling on my chest :-)
