Last Training and the pain that followed!

Last Wednesday, we were working on a closed guard overwrap, and a few times during the turn, I ended up landing with my back on my training partner’s knee. It wasn’t pleasant — every time I felt a sharp discomfort in my lower back.
After training, along with the usual soreness, I noticed a pain on the right side of my back, specifically around the kidney area. I couldn’t tell whether it was a muscle strain or something more serious.

Two days later, on Friday, I trained again as usual — when I warm up, it usually feels fine — but after that session, the pain became worse.
The next day, Saturday, I flew to France for work. On Sunday, while sitting during an audit, I suddenly felt something like a small ball moving down on the right side of my back, near the spine — and since then, that whole right side, from the back to the ribs, has been aching.
It’s been challenging to get out of bed, I can’t turn over at night because it hurts, and lying on my right side is especially painful in the kidney area.

I applied some Voltaren gel, which made things a bit better. I might visit a doctor when I get back home tomorrow, and I’ll definitely skip training this week — which, honestly, I probably should.

This was supposed to be a blog about my BJJ progress… but it’s turning into a blog about my pains and post-training problems. Hahaha!
