Ultra-marathon called Jiu-Jitsu

My ultra-marathon, called Jiu Jitsu, had a two-week break because of a business trip. In these two weeks, I did 105 push-ups only once in the hotel room. That's not much, and much less than I was planning. But it was good to rest this time to let my shoulders recover.

I’m now three months into Jiu-Jitsu. Last night was my 24th class. I’m still struggling with the forward roll. It’s not just my neck — my mind is holding me back too. But I’ll get it eventually.

After the warm-up, we practiced the double-leg takedown and different variations of the armbar, and for me, the omoplata for the first time, all from the guard position.

In the last 15 minutes, we rolled four 3-minute rounds, with one starting from guard. I did well. A different sparring partner every round.

The oldest of them was still 15 years younger than me. All of us white belts have more or less the same time on the mats.

On Friday, we’re training together with the advanced group again.
