Since I last wrote something in my blog, I’ve only been to class twice because of the duties a graybeard dad has. I’ve also done two training sessions on my own: some bicycling, walking (yes, that counts as a workout too), pull-ups, mobility work, core training, and exercises for my sore shoulders.
Yep — the shoulders have been giving me the most trouble these last weeks (or months?). I can hardly do push-ups at the moment without severe pain.
Nevertheless, the classes I did attend were quite satisfying. I did six rounds of rolling in each. The last time, the rounds were even five minutes each. We only did a warm-up and then went straight into free rolling. Normally, we work on techniques in between, like in the class before, when we practiced Koshi-guruma and some submissions from guard position.
It’s not easy when I have to skip classes because of work or family obligations. But what can you do? The important thing is to keep going.
